When Savi was 3, I was put on the NHS list for a breast reduction. (For the Americans: being put on the list wasn't a bad thing - if I had needed cancer treatment or heart surgery, the NHS would have taken care of it immediately, but having huge, pendulous, ugly boobs isn't really an emergency. Hence the list.) Savi and I were taking a bath, and I told her that soon, Mummy would be in hospital for a bit because they were going to make my boobs smaller. She refused to believe me, saying that it would be impossible: 'No, they can't do that,' she said. We argued for a while, and, right before I was getting out of the tub, I gave in: 'Fine, you're right - they can't make my boobs smaller.' As I stood up and reached for the towel, she said: 'Maybe they can do something about your butt, too.' {Ugh.}
