For details on how to find this and other cool jewelry, see end of post below... |
Everyone stayed home today, which was really cool. We watched too much telly, Savi played in the snow until she was blue, and, as I write this I received a text from Savi's school - no school tomorrow either so no getting up early! Woohoo - 4day weekend (kinda)! (It'll be like The Shining around here by Sunday...choosing my lipstick shade already to write on the wall)

This is the view from our bedroom window - HAHAHA! |

Now, I imagine many of you who live in the States, or in the North (Jenevieve? FW?) are scratching your head, wondering why such a small amount of snow has caused EVERYTHING to grind to a halt. Well, that's because it VERY rarely snows here - the last one was at least 5 years ago, and they're so poorly equipped to deal with it here that they sent out street cleaners. Yes, it was very funny to watch them valiantly struggle to move snow around a couple of inches. But this time we didn't even get that much - maybe I have David Cameron's cuts to thank for my comedy-less day?

We also were trying out our new, cheap camera, so I've got some random pics to share:

Buzz fixing the nice camera that I dropped and broke...oops... |

Yesterday, I completed my first quilt top, and I'm fairly pleased with the results of my labour - I'll post pics after Xmas when I get it done. Hopefully. You know what it's like...

had to lay it out on the kitchen floor to get it all in the pic :) |

And last but not least, you might be needing an idea for a Christmas pressie for someone, so I gently suggest you follow this link to my blogging friend
Jenevieve's etsy shop - she's an ecological consultant
who blogs here and her jewelry is pretty eco friendly and really very beautiful:
- she collects the bits of pottery and sea glass on the beach in Scotland - is that awesome or what? I'm ordering a necklace for my mum for xmas. I hope she doesn't read this post...
See you soon, my geeky friends!
wow, lovely patchwork, looking forward to more pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advertising! Glad you love the jewellery I make, I'm always worried what people think of it! It is strange that you have snow so far south, we're getting used to ours now, but still can't get my own car out the single track road, using my work 4x4 at the moment! Love the quilt, it looks fantastic, not brave enough to do one myself yet though! Hope you're having fun in your snow! :) x
ReplyDeleteLove the jewels, and quilt and snow! yeah, I love snow!
ReplyDeleteSavi looks cool - and the funny thing is - I'm just making a doll with hair like hers, and a MM one! spooky or what!!!
