I'm on clouds today - yesterday I went to my first Romsey Quilters meeting, and signed up to go to the Malvern Quilt Show next Friday on their coach trip! They were so nice and so enthusiastic that I just had to sign up. And the next meeting is a workshop meeting, so for a fiver I get to properly learn about colour theory (which I am crap with).
I also thought I'd share my Abi Monroe Doll's new home. We've named her Rema after my little sister Serena (hi, Rema!!). My sister lives in Alaska and is pregnant with her first child, a girl they've named Olivia (hi, Olivia!).
I won this Abi Monroe doll in a giveaway, and after it arrived we took good care of her, but didn't have a place to display her in. I decided she needed to sit on some old books, because like me, Serena is a geek and reads a lot of history and literature. No problem getting old books in England, I can assure you.
The problem is that my house was taken over by Star Wars stuff years ago. A. Lot. Of. Star. Wars. Stuff. So Mr. Geek had to rearrange some stuff to make room for Rema above the telly. (for some reason the thumbnails look blurry, but if you click on them, they're quite clear.)
She has to share her space.
With Darth Vader, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress, Yoda and a Stormtrooper.
So they hang out together. Rema has a crush on Dooku and is not impressed with Asajj's lame attempts to lure him away. All of them get really tired of Darth Vader complaining about the metal in his knee freezing up all the time from all that kneeling. They also get tired of Yoda's irritating lack-of-basic-English-grammar.
Oh, there's also a watch winder too:
And that shelf they're sitting under isn't holding air:
So. There you have it, my Star Wars life. What I've shown you is probably less than 10% of all the Star Wars stuff on display and in storage.
But I actually don't really care - Mr. Geek really likes his stuff, and honestly, it's just a freakin living room. Besides, I really don't have room to talk. My kitchen is filled with Marilyn Monroe pictures. And let's not forget my Carrie Fisher shrine:
Mr. Geek got me a personalised, signed photo of the goddess herself! I know, you are so jealous!
So, Rema has a home - she has weird roommates, but at least she's out of her box and making me smile every time I look at her. Thanks so much, Abi!!!
